Carnival of Debt Reduction

A blog carnival about reducing consumer debt

Flashback: Lower your rates

Personal Finance Advice hosted Carnival of Debt Reduction #17, and this week’s Flashback comes from Momma and the Boys: Lowering Credit Card Interest Rates.  Her researched showed that many people who called up their credit card issuers got a rate reduction — several percent, in fact.  This can be a big help on large balances.  I imagine that it helps to have a good payment record, but it probably won’t hurt to ask for a lower rate.  Anything to pay more principal and less interest.
